From President's Desk........!
DR. R A M E S H
I would like to extend my warm greetings from the new IATLIS family (2023-2026) as we congratulate and warmly welcome the newly elected IATLIS Executive Committee. Many thanks to our previous President of IATLIS Prof. H.P.S. Kalra and his team, and Prof. Jagtar Singh, Director, Collaboration and Partnership of IATLIS. The past year has been a busy one, with the professional expertise leading discussions and adding important context to some of the most critical issues facing libraries and librarianship. Professional growth initially attracted me to serve in the Indian Library Association (ILA) in many capacities, but I find it even more rewarding in the ways that IATLIS has provided a chance to collaborate with regional, national, and international universities, associations, and institutes.
Our New Vision of IATLIS is bringing together LIS educators and Practicing Library Professionals to ensure consistency and excellence throughout the LIS educational landscape. Our mission is to provide a platform for LIS teachers and practicing LIS professionals to share their experiences and better serve students, research scholars, and the user community at large. Our core values include high-quality LIS education, research, consistency in service delivery, and kindness to others. The ultimate goal of IATLIS is to see that the upcoming generation of teachers are well versed and aware of the scientific and technological development globally and as a result, they contribute to the overall development of students and the research community. I wish our LIS teachers to attain a higher level of professionalism in enabling students and teachers to achieve their goals in terms of career, knowledge, and overall development of the LIS profession.
